DISCO TRIVIA DETAILS

Disco Trivia runs between 3.5 and 4 hours, but can be made shorter if required. There is also the option of continuing the night with a DJ or more karaoke.

Here's a a step-by-step guide:

Begin the Night with a Song!
To kick the night off, Chrissy welcomes everyone and let’s everyone know that at any time of the night, they can win bonus points for team participation and general fabulousness. Chrissy then sings Dancing Queen, going around each table and randomly asking people to sing the next line. If people get it right, or at least fake it well, they start off the night with bonus points. As she goes around the crowd, she uses comic relief to relax everyone to get them settled in. She is a trained singer so the song also serves to entertain guests.

Round One
The Show Off Round. Teams are asked general knowledge questions so that competitors who actually have trivia knowledge can show off. During this round, songs will be played at random moments. The first person to stand up and shout the title of the song gets a bonus point for their team. They score more points should they sing along and make a moment of it (which of course, they do).

Game One
The game between rounds is ‘True or False’, where Chrissy reads out ridiculous funny facts and people must select heads or tails for true or false. The last person standing must give a little dance to prove their worthy of the two bonus points for their team. Should two people remain standing, it is a dance off for the winner.

Round Two
Fancy Pants Entertainment. Chrissy asks TV, movie and gossip questions. This round is interspersed with random theme songs from TV shows. The first person to stand up and yell the title gets a bonus point for their team. Participants also get bonus points if they can ‘Name that TV catch phrase, for example Arnold in Different Strokes, “What you talkin bout Willis?!”

Game Two
Paper Aeroplanes. Each team must fold a paper aeroplane, the winner being the furthest flying plane. It’s a simple game, with hilarious results every time.

Round Three
What’s The Next Line? Here, Chrissy sings a line from a song, and people have the opportunity to say, sing or perform the answer. The more people ‘Get their back into it;, the more points they are rewarded. This round really gets people going.

Game Three
Name That Actor. Chrissy reads a list of films the actor has starred in and a team member must write the answer down, and go through a small obstacle course before showing her the answer. The first person to get to Chrissy must perform three convincing dance moves to music, before showing her their answer. First successful person wins!

Round Four
Movie Music Dance Challenge. Chrissy plays a song and teams must write down the song title, the artist, and the movie the song is from. However during the round is where many bonus points can be won, when teams are challenged to do the appropriate dance according to the song being played. For example, while Summer Loving is playing, couples are encouraged to get up and re enact the scene from Grease. Or when Time Warp plays, the whole team must get up and do the dance to win bonus points. This round gets EVERYONE up and dancing.

Round Five
Karaoke Off. By this time everyone is right into the spirit of things! Each table are given a song booklet and ten minutes to select a song for their team to perform while the last round is being marked. Then each team must get up and perform their song, with bonus points for dancing and team work.

By the end of the karaoke round, everyone is again up and dancing and pretty much incapable of sitting down and being quiet. So Chrissy tallys up the scores, and announces the winner and gives away the prizes. At this point there is the choice of continuing with karaoke, having the DJ play music, or the night can come to a close.
